Saturday around noon Raquel was walking down stream when she saw a stick floating by. she went to get it and it was moving too fast. as she resigned to getting it she saw an unusual rock in the reeds. a closer look revealed that it was staring back at her. she found a skull!!
we kept our distance not wanting to disturb any potential evidence. i don't know i never found anything like this. being so far from civilazation with out a signal on the cell phone we continued enjoy our camping.
Sunday we packed early and headed to town to report it to the forest service. the cave creek office was closed so we found a sheriff that had pulled over a vehicle giving the occupant a ticket. he called the forest service they took our information and i drew a map for them to find it.
transcript from phone message.
"Hello Mr. Kulich this is officer Addison (garbled) from the US Forest Service, calling to inform you we have recoverd the skull and it was a rubber skull... so its a fake. Thank you for reporting it though and have a good day."
